You pay what you eat goddammit, why is that so hard?!! And the place you go to is something you both can afford. Pizza is good food too you know, and there are cheaper ones and more sophisticated ones. You don’t even have to say you have little money, just say you are cutting down on your meat or whatever, or you really like pizza classic Italy-style with just cheese. Or be honest if you want a honest relationship and say ”I really want to go for pizza with you, but I can’t really afford the most expensive one, but if you want I would really want pizza with you” (How cute is that?! <3 ) And if you’re in a real relationship this isn’t even a problem, because then you have already figured out what works for you and are not awkward about it. Just pay for yourself and let this topic go for once in for all. It’s almost as you think this is a common problem and it’s not if you just act normal about it and tell what’s on your mind!!!!!

I mean is the bill over $50? Is $50 all he has left in his bank account or what he has conveniently on him in cash? There are too many accountabilities. And it depends on who wanted to go out to eat in the first place, who payed last time, etc.
